Good Day Sunshine

There is nothnig like a warm sunny day. Even though I made this video as the sun was setting, I was still enjoying the weather, and still am as I type this. I just hope that the devil cold stays far away.

The Drive There - #1

This is a series of 7 videos that make up a two day trip back home to Chicago for Easter. Each deals with a different segment of the weekend, and each has its own special feel. This first one is of the drive to Chicago.

The Drive There
Music: Josh Rouse – Winter in the Hamptons

Easter Eggs - #2

I love painting Easter eggs. They have really complicated kits now…I remember just using vinegar, hot water, and food coloring…so I did at least two eggs that way. I do believe that there has to be at least one ugly Easter egg in the bunch…it just makes things complete.

Easter Eggs
Music: Iron and Wine - Peng!

Family Time - #3

On Saturday night my family got together with some of my Aunts and Uncles because some of them couldn’t come over for Easter dinner. Pizza is always the food of choice for casual get togethers. Our family gatherings always seem to revolve around food.

Family Time
Music: Kings of Convenience - Homesick

Easter Morning - #4

Easter Morning: Birds on the porch, caffeine in our blood streams and our butts in church.

Easter Morning
Music: Nick Drake – From the Morning

My Old House - #5

Like the video describes, this is my old house, and it will soon be no more. Kind of sad, but also kind of exciting. We found the bird at the end of the video on the porch of my parent’s house…I thought it fit the mood.

My Old House
Music: Kathleen Edwards - Old Time Sake

More Family Time - #6

We made the rounds to visit my Grandparents on my Father's side, and then spent the rest of the day with some of my step-Dad’s kids, my Grandma, and my Aunt and Uncle…Lots of scurrying little children are always a must on holidays. (I made my Parent’s wave goodbye for the video. They usually don't wave goodbye when we leave, so that is why they are acting like weenies.)

More Family Time
Music: Chris Thile - Raining At Sunset

The Drive Back Home - #7

The drive back to Michigan was very peaceful, short, and beautiful.

Guns

I am not a violent person. I don't hunt, I really don't feel that guns are an integral part of life. But I cannot deny the fact that it is really freaking fun to fire a gun. I prefer a 22 caliber rifle, small but still fun. I went out to "the boonies" out where you can fire guns and not have your neighbors question it. The heart that gets shot up is a valentine I got last year from a girl who...well lets just say things never worked out.

Guns
Music: The Beatles - Hapiness is a Warm Gun, Flatt & Scruggs - Foggy Mountain Breakdown, Arvo Part - Miserere

Sunday Dinner

Last Sunday I went to My Aunt's house for sunday dinner. I didn't take the camera into the house...so I only took photos. Sunday dinner is one of those things that is a highlight of a week. It only happens every once in a while. I enjoy a good sitdown meal complete with vegetables and dessert. Usually I just leftovers when I make it, so I really enjoy it when it rolls around.

Get Up Offa That Thing

Inspired by Michael Verdi's vlog assignment of "What do you like about your life?" and Amanda Congdon's SXSW Dance across Austin, I decided to make my own little video about how much fun it is to get free songs off iTunes. This is the Result
