A Nature Hike

I went on a hike in my college's nature preserve...you can hear the highway in the background, but hey, at least some nature is being preserved..

I also altered my intro..let me know what you think of that.

  • That was one kick ass nature walk. I often forget that walking in the woods can be so eventful. Great editing too. The slo-mo double take is perfect.

  • Nice new intro.

    Overall a great job!

Let this video blog post be held up for all to see as a good example of how to do it.

    Good sound, lighting and story.

  • That was so great!, very professional, more fun to watch than Channel 2.

Good thing you let that snake go.

  • Excellent snake footage! Glad he didn't bite you!

    Good stuff!

  • That snake stuff was gold. Also liked that shot of you walking into the distance beating the ground w/your stick. I have a slight fear of snakes, so I would not have been caught doing that for anything. Are there poisonous snakes there?

  • Man Josh. We don't have too many people who do that in Texas. Well maybe there are more but they tend to die.

  • Wow! Yikes even!

Here's a question ... have you ever done some research or anything on how to identify the various types of snakes at a glace? ;-) Hate to see you pick up the wrong one!

  • Well if he doesn't post again we can only assume the snake was poisonous and killed him.

  • steve's mom commented on your video.
    thats like good luck.
by the way, you try that snake thing in TX and you get bit.

  • That was awesome. I love the slow-mo instant replay. It was so much more effective than just doing it slow mo in the first place.

  • That was really nice. I felt really in touch with nature. Plus, birds were actually chirping outside my window as I watched this... so I guess it added to the earthy effect.

I dug the flower shot and your editing (like everyone else said, the slo-mo was classic). I had to laugh.

  • that flower on the picture looks like it is throwing up.

i also liked the snake slo-mo - AWESOME!

  • I like the new intro.

Your Vlog has become my best new reason to procrastinate at work.

  • Have you checked out the Appalachian Trail dvd?

    With Mark, Edgar, and Yo-Yo?

  • Nice, Josh.

  • You drove that snake into a corner and it proved to me mean and you captured the whole "meanness" of it and published its experience to the world. Well Done!

  • I am starting to display a distinct lack of vocabulary when I say "I love it!".

I especially like snakes, needless to say the footage facinated me. All we get at my uni are agressive ducks and angry seagulls, giant fishes and an infestation of rabbits. They're all cute and everything except the seagulls which closely resemble those to Finding Nemo except that you're the fish.
