I was inspired to get outside of the city of Grand Rapids and explore some of the more rural areas of Michigan. In my search, I found something that was very interesting.

Great video! Goes to show you the cool experiences you can have when you step out of your comfort zone. I'm glad the bull was nice to you!
On another note, I heard a rumor that you were going to be travelling around in Europe during the month of August and will be away from vlogging. If this is true, it'll seem like one of my favorite shows is ending for the season. Hope you have a great time and vlog it!
What I liked most was seeing your tentativeness with these animals, and how you warmed up to them. I really felt a little of your "experience," on the farm Josh. Thanks.
I think you should have jumped on the bull for a ride like she suggested. That would have been fun to watch.. maybe not for you though. :) That thing had the largest horns I have ever seen!
I agree that more people should take that leap and try to follow-up on interesting stories that they see. Be persistent, as you were going back no knowing what you'd find when you got there.
A thanks to the family allowed us all to see this little bit of their existence.
Nice video, Josh. Any time you can get out of the city you can find some really wonderful people with good stories to tell. Actually, you can find that in cities too, but the scenery is better in rural areas.
Great to see these cattle in the U.S. My father spent a lot of time in the Scottish highlands while learning to be a shepherd / border collie guy and we always marvelled at his images of the Highland Cattle. Majestic in a prehistoric kind of way, no?
Your videos/vlogs as always are fabulous. I’m curious as to your position on “corporate sponsorship” for Vlogging. I’ve heard that many of the vloggers involved in the yahoo group are actually “paid to vlog”. Your comments?
Josh--these are very, very cute cows. I can't believe how docile they were! When we go out to Bre's folks' sheep farm I wouldn't dare get near the rams. Good job coming up with something new and interesting...still waiting on the hot dog stand, though. PS--nice haircut!
Now I see why everyone in the vlogosphere is talking about your video! It has a really great spirit about it. You are getting so good at this, you know!

Very cool. I'm glad you got the guts up to go chat with them, it made for a very good vlog.
I don't know if the family who owned the farm is watching, but I hope they are - it's was a very nice view into their lives.

Great video! I was amazed at how friendly she was. That one cow that came running up to feed almost had me worried. Anyway, good job!

Who says you never meet interesting people. This is a good example of how Vlogs can be longer than 2 or 3 minutes and be totally watchable.
Have you noticed how everyone is getting so much better at Vlogging?

I was surprised looking at the cow running for food like my cat when I feed him

nice one josh. my favorite "bittersweet" part was watching the bull standing by itself as you hear the cars going by in the background.
i never would have thought such intimidating looking animals could be so docile and sweet. isn't it often like that? :)
By Zadi, at 3:15 AM, August 02, 2005
Great job, as always!
I'm so glad she didn't try to take advantage of a city slicker like you and talk you in to milking that bull!
Whew baby! That would have been one hell'uva vlog! :-)
