Geocaching

Geocaching combines two things that I really enjoy, technology and nature. I get to go outside, see beautiful things, and feel like I am part of some sort of secret society of treasure-hunters. Sorry for the large file size, I am still perfecting my compression.

  • Geocaching looks awesome! poison ivy does not.

How did you ever get into geocaching? (sounds to me kinda like vlogging for outdoors types.)

  • Great vlog, Josh. I like Geocaching too. Do far, I have only done in-city caching which has proven to be interesting. (I live right downtown Chicago and dont have a car, so I have to make do)City Geocaching can be alot of fun actually ... I'll try to vlog it next time I go.

(also there is rarely poison ivy in ... a subway station, for example :P )

  • I loved the part of the video where you stopped everything and focused on the reflection in the water.

I, too, would like to know how you got into geocaching. I'd love to start!

  • Sorry for the poison ivy :( Never heard of geocaching before, it looks like a lot of fun! I liked the pool reflection shot and nature shots you did as well :)

Josh, I was thinking of doing a geo caching vlog the other day. It's probably been a couple of years since I went on my first (and only) geo caching hunt but it was so neat. Who ever thought of starting this was a genius.

    Great video, as always.

  • Don't scratch it!! (alright. you already know that)

I agree about the filesize, but the end result looks great-- mine would have been a forest of blocky green boxes.

  • There aren't enough details in the video to figure out which cache you were hunting. I've been lucky and have not run into any poison ivy while caching. I may have picked some up in my backyard over the weekend, though.

  • I want to geocache! Can you say that? Is the verb "to geocache"?

By Blogger Amanda, at 8:40 PM, June 15, 2005

  • I'd heard of geocaching but never seen it or done it. Looks rad.

  • Yeah, Geocaching rocks (except for poison ivy part). Really well made video though. I envy your proness.

  • I had gotten to Geocaching pretty heavy a few years ago then I switched to whitewater kayaking. This summer since I'm out due to shoulder surgery I'll be getting back into geocaching. I have a GeoCaching Page set up on my old personal site at: http://dandbbradley.home.mindspring.com/geocaching.html

  • Excellent.

I've only been out geocaching once since my first and last trip; I need to get out there again. The latest attempt was an urban micro ... and as I tried to find it I got stopped by a cop and had to abort. heh.

Now that it's warm out I have this irrational fear of ticks. I could deal with poison ivy, but I totally freak out if I spot a tick on me. :shudder:
