Hot dog! You must've been full. Thanks for the recap. Now, I know where to get my hotdogs if I ever visit your area.

Your videos are looking more and more professional all the time! This one reminds me of a show on the Food Network called Food Finds. Really great post! Good editing, closeups of the dogs, the restaurant signs etc... awesome!! :)

4 loaded hot dogs in one afternoon for a skinny kid like yourself is pretty impressive. This is definitely a video I would've loved to be involved with...Hot-Dog-Hopping.

Excellent post Josh. I'm constantly on the look out for a good dog (any pizza too!). Now I know where to go in Grand Rapids for sure. Oh no! Now all your firends will visit and want you to take them out for even more hot dogs! I really like the shots from the last place you visited (Yesterdog); great indoor lighting. What kind of camera are you using these days? Very enjoyable.

Wait a minute!!! You've got Josh Leo's Pick's for Vlogs, right? How about a new vlog called Josh Leo's Hot Dog Picks! A lifetime of hot dog videos from around the world.I forget, did you catch any "frankfurter" action in germany?Vloggercon should provide some good ones in NYC.

Nice vid of GR flava. I'm a big fan of the ol' Yesterdog myself. Very impressive hot dog stamina. That was like a workout. Nice editing on that segment too. I'll be back to visit your blog again sometime.

Jajajajaaaaa...I'm not a fan of lots of toppings in hot dogs, but now I now what's a agood combination of toppings to have in a hot dog. Oh, and the secret ingredient: messy! In what time frame did you have those 4 hot dogs?
By JuanFalla, at 6:27 PM, December 11, 2005
I had no idea there were so many wiener choices in GR! I also had no idea people put so much stuff on their hot dogs. I never thought of hot dogs as a vehicle for anything besides mustard and stewed onions. It's the NYC way!Now I'm hungry.
By missbhavens, at 10:04 PM, December 11, 2005
There's nothing better than a messy dog, that's fer sure.
By Tim, at 11:49 PM, December 11, 2005
you seem unfamiliar with coney islands.this cannot be. they are everywhere on this side of MI.ALSOV once did a high-caliber school report on hot dogs.

Yesterdog's would have gotten my vote also! Aaahh, the memories. Many late nights/early mornings spent in that place. Being from Chicago, you should have recognized the "electric green" relish as being a signature of Chicago-style dogs.

you crazy drunk college kid!KIDDINGyou make-a me hungry for a good hot dog.

Fantastic video, Josh. :)

That last comment was from me; don't know what went wrong there. Again, excellent video, Josh.

There are two other places I like to get dogs, but they aren't in GR. First is a hot dog stand next to the Coral Gables restaraunt in Saugatuck. The other is a famous dog shack in Rockford. The Corner Bar. They have an on-going eating contest. You get your picture on the wall if you eat a lot. Check them out for part two, yeah? Cheers.

I was thinking exactly what Erin was thinking. You might get on with the Food Network if all else fails ;)Also, if you ever come to Atlanta, be sure to visit THE VARSITY! Especially if you need a GOOD colon cleanser :)http://www.thevarsity.com/

Nice hair cut! Any one from GR could have told you the best dogs come from Yesterdog. Plus it is such a cool place. Everyone should go there some time in their life!!!
By Nate & Rachel, at 11:50 AM, December 13, 2005
Hey man you make me wanna go get a dog!! :D
By Blu Crystal, at 6:16 PM, December 14, 2005
Sweet piece Josh. I'm kind of a Coney Island style dog fan, but that last one did look tasty.

Josh,The thing happened today, a friend hooked me up with the Josh Rouse album Nashville...the first song I listened was Carolina...I was suddenly bamboozled...I was not in front of my computer, or iPod, I was driving...

Hey Josh...I just watched a clip from some Motion Graphics Chicago conference, encouraging people to videoblog. It featured a snappy little video about how "we are the media" and how this is a revolution. And maybe it is...I'm concerned though, because there were very few people of color, certainly no black folks, in that video? I wonder if your revolution is just affluent and mostly white?I would PM you, but I couldn't find any contact on your blog.

Josh, I don't even LIKE hotdogs & I'm craving a Yesterdog. The footage of the fully loaded dogs veiled in steam was just beautiful. Hope all's well with you & you'll be home in Chicago for Christmas and a real Chi-town dog.

Yesterdog! Been there! One of my favorite areas of GR. But it's been years

Great vlog man! For those interested in, I've just written a post about vlogging.

Must... Eat... Hotdog... :-)
By Robert, at 9:33 PM, December 23, 2005
oh man I remember Yesterdog. That place was so dang good. I need to come to GR to visit you and get some dogs. P.S. you could do a comparison of some of the dogs in the chicagoland area and see how they compare with yesterdog.

The things we do for our craft. :)Two thumbs up.

You seem to be on the road a lot. I was thinking it would save on gas if you could vlog multiple chronicles (if you haven't done it already). Say have a hotdog in Bavaria saved on footage, then go see a winery, and then someplace else. Keep it real. I enjoyed the installment on hiking and Thanksgiving by the way. Happy New Year.
By Francisco Daum, at 8:06 PM, December 25, 2005
the problem is that I'm in the fifteenth gruiling hour of my annual new years eve resolution to not eat hot dogs, and now I'm doomed ... must eat hot dog!
By Richard, at 6:09 PM, January 01, 2006
I almost thought that you were going to say: "Yesterdog was the Big Weiner!"Oh well, next time.
By TaulPaul, at 4:37 AM, January 06, 2006
Canada has next to no hotdog culture, other than the weenie at the campfire or backyard barbeque. When I was living in Los Angeles, I was really blown away when I saw hot dog franchises advertising on the television and billboards. It never occurred to me that it could be a popular fast food.
By Michael Tyas, at 2:30 AM, January 10, 2006
I just discovered this vlog and it is awesome! One of my favorites. I should start my own one of these days.Anyway, I just had a question regarding hot-dogs and your hometown Chicago. What is the best hot-dog place in Chicago? I am going to the windy city next month and your video made me hungry. I am French and there are NO good hotdogs over here in France, none!
By Benoit, at 12:15 PM, January 20, 2006
heard about you on NPR today. Just wanted to congratulate you on all of your success with the vlog. Oh, and way to represent for Grand Rapdis!!!!!!!

Josh, while I'll don't agree with your #1 rating, I was still very impressed with your work and attention to detail. Having lived in Chicago and GR, I feel we have similar backgrounds. I'd rate as follows:1. The Grand Coney (Perfect Detroit Style Coney)2. Chicago's Deep Dish & Dogs (all the right toppings, just need more. Pile it on!)3. Yesterdog (Ax the Ketchup!)Dog Pit I haven't been there yet but am eager to check it out.

This stuff is truly amazing. The colon is such a little forgotten organ until you run into trouble. People don't typically cleanse their colons on a regular basis and that causes many a problem with their Colon Cleansing. With just a little research people can find many different routes to cleaning this organ of the body out.
